homers and barry zito out duals verlander. if you are a giants fan you couldn't dream it would be this good. the giants win game one of the world series 8-3. what a night for pablo sandoval. first inning off verlander. gone. then in the third, more of the same. in the fifth, aloha. the panda joins babe ruth, reggie jackson and pujols as the only player to hit three home runs in a pearled series. barry zito cep the tigers in check and allowed one run on six hits and walked one and struck out three and the giants are victorious. game two tomorrow night at at&t park. we will hear from the panda and zito in sports. >> amazing. so much fun. thanks, larry. well, as you can guess the ballpark was rocking tonight. fans in pandemonium. but it was not all fun and games out there, actually.

doubling and tripling their prices. >> how much for parking right now? >> $140. i am not able to pay that money, but i charge that money. >> other garages charged $ninety. but they seemed ready to raise prices if necessary. >> last week i was here and paid $30 and now it is $90 for parking. i guess the price of the world series. >> ticket scalpers were out in force. some fans who bought from them are sorry they did. johnny gomez forked over $400 for two tickets that were complete fakes. >> we bought tickets that are no good. be careful when you are coming here to go to the game. you can spend a lot of money out of pocket. >> if you didn't have a ticket you could wait in the long line for a free look throughout field cubbie holes. david waited nine hours. >> how bad do you want this? >> real bad. we are gonna do it too. >> police were out in force in the park and on the water keeping the peace. and as for detroit fans, we found this guy taking his chances and paddling through

we are waiting to hear about the severity of their injuries. this accident happened before 10:00 on 18th street and tennessee avenue. we are told a vehicle somehow rolled over and ended up on 280 near mariposa. right now one lane is closed with the mariposa off-ramp. police found a car full of pot and money. and a bay area teacher is under arrest taken out of class by police. it happened in hercules and as alan wang explains, detectives are looking into the possibility that the teacher was selling dope to his students. >> hercules police say they found this in a car found by a middle school teacher. two baggies of marijuana, one weighing more than a pound and another baggie in the glove compartment are four rolls of cash tote will taying 4,200. >> the amount of marijuana and all of the money in the baggies in the car indicated that he might well be selling marijuana. >> police called 66-year-old

alan goodman out of his classroom and arrested him on campus. he is a math and computer skills teacher that shares a campus with the high school. >> goodman is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana on school grounds and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. >> do you have any evidence he was selling to the kids? >> we are still investigating that at this time. >> i don't know about the middle school students. this is a joint high school. maybe the high school students. i am hoping he is not, but you never know. >> the discovery was made by a police resource officer who noticed a car in the faculty parking lot that was still running. police also searched goodman's home in walnut creek and found a large amount of cash, more marijuana and evidence he was growing it in his home. now police want to know if he has been selling it to students. in hercules, alan wang, abc7 news. the chp officer shot and killed a man who tried to

attack her. she pulled over on highway 29 south of lower lake earlier this afternoon. he was in a stolen vehicle. the officer says the man went at her and started choking her. that's when she opened fire and killed him. this is a picture of the scene after reinforcements arrived. the officer was taken to the hospital. she is expected to be okay. a man who worked for the port of oakland for more than two decades died on-the-job today. mark arnett was killed while doing maintenance on top of a crane. the 51-year-old mechanic was crushed by the massive crane. it happened around 9:30. a union spokesperson tells us arnett was a shop foreman, but even for an experienced worker the docks can be a dangerous place. >> it is not normal, sir. it is a quick, productive place, and if you don't watch what you are doing, you get your body in harm's way, you get hurt. >> cal-osha shutdown that terminal to investigate the six other terminals that remained open.

experts say the shark that bit and killed a surfer off california's central coast was a great white. the santa barbara county sheriff's office released this photo showing marks from the shark's teeth on the bottom of the surfboard. the great white was at least 15 feet long. it was big. the shark researcher made that determination after examining the body of francisco javier solorio who was killed in the shark attack. in an exclusive interview, a former san jose police officer says time card fraud in the department is rampant. he is suing the city. the city, the police department and two other officers. he says they routinely went out to eat or took in a movie when they were forced to work. he was forced to retire early after his team labeled him a snitch. it began in october 2010 when he says he left a poohy swraw party. >> i -- when he left a pizza party. >> that's the coaster, but do i have to do what people do? no. it is just because people say

governor romney and president obama are putting in long nights in the final stretch before the election. mitt romney made campaign stops in four states today.

he is scheduled to launch a bus tour tomorrow in ohio. it is a must win state in the race. president obama held a campaign event in las vegas featuring pop singer katy perry. he said he is going to pull an all nighter. he will visit eight states in a 48-hour campaign blitz he started today. and a boy in florida used an unscheduled visit by the president to sneak in a smooch. look in the top row about the center left. the boy planted one on the cheek of his classmate when mr. obama took photos at this school in delray beach. once the president's campaign learned the -- learned of the photo of this sly little romeo they posted it on twitter. there will be some new millionaires in the bay area as the restriction is about to be lifted for facebook employees who own stock in the company. the employees' share will be converted into to be storm and can be -- tomorrow and can be sold. facebook workers own 225 million shares about $5.2 billion.

but they may wait to sell. facebook's stock price is way below its initial offering of $38 a share closing at $23 a share. a very special honor for a peninsula girl. she will take to the mound in game two in the world series. leslie brinkley has her story. >> i believe i got the ball. >> clarissa fong is a junior in high school and works at the boys and girls club in her free time. the boys and girls club teamed up major league baseball this year and clarissa will get the honor of handing over the game two world series ball. >> since i was a little kid my brother and me would play baseball. since it is our local team we have become a fan. >> clarissa with her great work and her back dwrownd in softball and -- background in softball and in sports she would be a perfect person to enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity.

and out toward fairfield, peabody road we are getting light showers. across 121 and 29 we are getting you down to street level, browns valley road, it is getting wet out there. this is the last push of moisture. as we look toward san francisco, the last batch of moisture we are seeing is in the form of sprinkles. so with all of the recent rain where do we stand? santa rosa just under an inch and a half of rain. 84% of normal. san francisco, check this out, 122% of where you should be. oakland .66 of an inch and san jose about a third of an inch so far. 43% of normal. this morning and this afternoon the rainfall totals varied from a couple hundredths in places like concord to a third of an inch in sonoma county. it is -- sprinkles or isolated light showers. a cold morning with some fog. we are looking at dry and mild conditions for your thursday afternoon. warming it up into the weekend. here is a look at the

satellite and the radar. first trough moving through and here is the next wave. it is departing, but we have this moist air that is moving in which is why you are probably going to be seeing a few more sprinkles into the couple of hours. into the nighttime hours. then we will see a change in the pattern. high pressure takes over, sunny and warmer and into the weekend. we will see night and morning fog at times and occasional high clouds giving us the beautiful sunsets. so tonight we do have the cloud cover and the sprinkles. we will see some fog forming. tomorrow morning during that commute if we get enough clearing could be some thick pockets of fog. just watch out for the morning commute and bundle up when you head out the door. it is going to be a chilly start. temperatures in most areas in the low to upper 40s. we will see a couple of low 50s around oakland, san francisco and half moon bay. as we look at the high temperatures for tomorrow, it is a milder day. lots of sunshine. 64 in half moon bay and 65 in san francisco. narrow range is 68 in santa rosa, napa, oakland, out

toward the inland valleys, fairfield, livermore, 70 degrees. even around the bay, fremont 70 degrees, 68 in san jose. around the monterey bay, it is a nice, mild sunny day. 70 in santa cruz and 72 for morgan hill. here is the forecast for game two of the world series at at&t park. 5:07 and 62 degrees as the san francisco giants match up against the detroit tigers. 56 degrees and it will be breezy out there. just a few clouds around. dry for tomorrow night's game. the accu-weather seven-day forecast, it is a warmer pattern as we hit the week and. weekend. mid60s coast and upper 70s in the inland areas. earlier next week the temperatures will drop off, and then by wednesday we are bringing in a chance of showers. mike niko will be here from 4:30 to 7:00 a.m. with live doppler 7hd should we need it one last time before we get a nice dry stretch. >> forget spanking or grounding. a wisconsin couple has a new way to punish their teenager. >> we'll show you

a wisconsin couple has come up with a unique way to

good evening. nobody saw this coming. barry zito out dualing verlander. pablo sandoval joins some of the greatest of all time as giants take game one of the world series. yes, it really happened. a night the panda will never forget. in the first, 95 mile per hour fast ball up from verlander, and this is crushed. 1-0 giants.
